Job summary

Jobtailor in Maryland is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated UI and API tests using Cypress. You will ensure robust test coverage for new features and bugs, while collaborating with DevOps to integrate tests into GitLab CI/CD.

The role requires JS/TS expertise, experience with RESTful APIs, and a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Direct-hire role based in the United States.

Qualifications

• Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Proven experience designing, writing, and maintaining automated tests using Cypress.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for test script development.
• Experience testing modern web applications, RESTful microservices, and APIs.
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence; Git experience.
• Experience integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD).
• Familiarity with cloud-based architecture (AWS) and Docker.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality automated UI and API test scripts using Cypress.
• Execute automated test suites, analyze results, troubleshoot failures, and document defects.
• Partner with DevOps to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and demos.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage for new features and bug fixes.
• Support system quality, reliability, and performance; modernize tooling.
