Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure designs comply with local, state and federal regulations and codes; develop project specifications and budgets.
• Communicate with clients to understand needs, present options, and address concerns.
• Provide construction support, respond to RFIs, and review shop drawings.
• Stay updated on AutoCAD Civil 3D trends and site civil design practices.

Job description

Typical Duties Include

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D software to create and modify site plans, grading and drainage layouts, utility layouts, and construction documents.
• Work with Civil Engineer to conduct site analysis, and integrate topographical surveys and geotechnical data, to inform design decisions.
• Ensure designs comply with local, state and federal regulations and codes.Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects and other team members to develop project specifications and budgets.
• Communicate with clients to understand their needs, present design options, and address any concerns.
• Perform quality checks and reviews of own work to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Create and maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, calculations, and reports.
• Provide support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs, and reviewing shop drawings.
• Stay updated on library trends and advancements in AutoCAD Civil 3D software and site civil design practices.

Required

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency.
• Ideally with the ability to create complex site designs and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of site development principles, grading, drainage, paving, site constructability, and utility design.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.

Preferred

• Knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, DOT, MUTCD, ADAVABA compliance, and permitting processes is a plus.
