Job summary

MATHESON is seeking a Cylinder Maintenance Tech for our Pal, PA location to support safety, quality, and production goals. The role covers cylinder draining, valve work, tagging, inspections, and preparation paperwork.

You will lift up to 50 lbs, operate a forklift, and follow all safety procedures daily. Training is provided and equal opportunity employment is offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or the equivalent.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work outside, climb ladders, use hand tools and move gas cylinders.
• Ability to operate a forklift. Training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Safety: keeps work area clean and follows procedures.
• Production: cylinder draining, tag removal, verify codes in Avante, proper disposal, inspections, record keeping.
• Cylinder maintenance: remove/install valves, stock supplies, inspections, prepare cylinders for service.
• Cylinder sorting: classify by size and valve package, recordkeeping, finish preparation forms, pallet handling.
• General: OT as needed, other tasks by plant management.

MATHESON is one of the nation's leading suppliers of industrial gases and welding equipment. We are seeking a Cylinder Maintenance Tech for our Pal, PA location. Job duties:

Safety

• Keeps work area clean and orderly.
• Follows all company Safety procedures and policies.

Production

• Cylinder Draining
• Removes old tags and labels from cylinders.
• Verifies cylinders in product codes in Avante.
• Properly disposes of residual gases and liquids as required.
• Performs visual inspections of cylinders' exteriors.
• Records cylinder information on the Cylinder Preparation Form.
• Provides finished Cylinder Preparation Forms to Production Supervisor or Production Planner.

Cylinder Maintenance

• Removes and installs cylinder valves, installs dip tubes (FLETs) and PRDs.
• Maintains stock levels for all relevant supplies.
• Performs visual inspections of cylinders' exteriors and interiors as required.
• Dries cylinders following standard cylinder preparation instructions and any special requirements.
• Stages cylinders for shipments to suppliers of cylinder services such as testing, blasting, cleaning, etc.
• Properly scraps cylinders and valves and records such scrapping.

Cylinder Sorting

• Sorts cylinders based on cylinder size and valve package.
• Verifies cylinders in product codes in Avante.
• Records cylinder information on the Cylinder Preparation Form.
• Provides finished Cylinder Preparation Forms to Production Supervisor or Production Planner.
• Places finished sorted pallets in appropriate designated areas.
• Performs any additional work as necessary on the sorting table.

General

• Works OT as needed to complete daily requirements.
• Performs all other tasks as assigned by local plant management.

Quality

• Adheres to all Quality system policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or the equivalent. Must be able to perform simple
arithmetic exercises.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work outside, climb ladders, use hand tools and move gas cylinders.
Ability to operate a forklift. Training will be provided.
