Cylinder Loader

Location: Nashville, TN
Pay: $22.05 per hour

Job Summary

The Cylinder Loader is responsible for safely loading and unloading gas cylinders, preparing cylinders for filling and delivery, and maintaining safe and compliant cylinder handling operations. This role operates filling and pumping equipment, performs required inspections and tests, maintains accurate records, and ensures cylinders requiring maintenance are removed from service. The position also supports inventory, housekeeping, and customer service activities while following applicable safety procedures and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Load delivery trucks and unload empty cylinders for preparation, storage, and refilling.
• Move cylinders safely to fill racks and designated storage areas.
• Fill high-pressure industrial, medical, and mixed-gas cylinders using established pressure and temperature methods.
• Operate and safely maintain equipment used to pump or repackage gases into cylinders.
• Perform required pre-fill and post-fill inspections and tests before releasing cylinders.
• Inspect cylinders and remove those requiring maintenance or repair from service until corrective work is completed.
• Inspect and maintain pumping equipment, pressure gauges, monitoring devices, and related apparatus.
• Fill cylinders and containers to the appropriate pressure or weight according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate cylinder filling records and follow procedures required for compliance with applicable regulations.
• Support inventory activities and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Assist customers and other team members as needed.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures and requirements when handling compressed gases and cylinders.
• Work overtime as needed to support operational requirements.

Job Requirements

• Experience in cylinder handling, gas filling, warehouse operations, material handling, or a related environment preferred.
• Ability to safely handle cylinders and perform physically demanding material-handling activities.
• Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate operational records.
• Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to operate and safely maintain equipment used for gas filling and material handling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of up to 8 hours.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, crouch, reach, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to routinely lift and move 25-75 pounds and occasionally lift 76 to more than 100 pounds.
• Ability to occasionally climb, balance, kneel, crawl, push, pull, and perform fine motor activities.

• Role involves regular handling of high-pressure gas cylinders and related equipment.
• Work requires adherence to applicable local, state, and federal safety and regulatory requirements.
