Job summary

Dover Hydraulics in Ohio is seeking an entry-level machinist to hone cylinders to size using a large hone and a handheld tool. You will learn to measure with micrometers and gain hands-on experience in a busy machine shop.

This role offers a path toward manual machining, with training on the cylinder shop honing procedure. You will work in a safety-conscious environment and support daily shop operations.

Qualifications

• Reading ID/OD micrometers to size parts
• Basic math including metric-to-standard conversions
• Crane and forklift operation
• Able to exert pressure to operate the hand hone
• Able to lift 50 lbs repetitively during an 8 hour shift

Responsibilities

• Operate the large hone located in the machine shop
• Operate the hand hone located in the machine shop
• Change Hone Heads on both
• Maintain an organized workspace and return tooling to storage
• Record start and stop times in the Job Tracking System (DATS)
• Train to cylinder shop honing procedure DHI-CS-2001-010
• Follow all safety guidelines and report accidents or unsafe conditions
