Job summary

The St. Louis Jewish Community Center (the J) seeks a qualified group exercise instructor to develop and administer engaging cycling programs for our members. You will adapt sessions for safety, promote fitness, and lead classes with professionalism.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, current CPR/AED/First Aid for the Professional Rescuer, and a current national fitness certification. Six months teaching experience is preferred; on-time, reliable, and inclusive service is

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to teach classes (demonstrate techniques and lead the group through the program).
• Strong listening and oral communication skills.
• Exhibit leadership and professional demeanor while working with diverse patrons.

Responsibilities

• Develop and administer safe, engaging group cycling programs approved by the JCC or national fitness certifying bodies.
• Promote group exercise and fitness programs to members and demonstrate program value.
• Maintain a neat, organized studio and ensure equipment is properly stored after classes.
• Communicate professionally with patrons, colleagues, and supervisors; attend mandatory meetings and training.
