Description

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), a provider of cloud‑based integration, automated testing, and data analysis for mission‑critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer – Navy Mission to be part of our Advanced Capabilities team, based in Arlington, VA.

Key Responsibilities

Lead RMF efforts across all six RMF steps including Categorization, Control Selection, Control Implementation, Assessment, Authorization, and Continuous Monitoring.
Develop and maintain RMF artifacts including SSPs, SARs, SAPs, POA&Ms, inventories, architecture diagrams, and continuous monitoring documentation.
Coordinate directly with U.S. Navy Authorizing Officials (AOs), Security Control Assessors (SCAs), ISSMs, ISSOs, and Program Managers; perform regular server updates, patch management, and software installations.
Manage cybersecurity authorization packages and support ATO, IATT, and IATO activities.
Perform ACAS scans on various devices across multiple systems.
Collect, review, and submit various STIG checklists for RMF processes.
Develop and maintain access control policies for various organization assets.
Remediate vulnerabilities and document POAMs as required.
Implement, maintain, and review security processes to maintain compliance and ensure user permissions are appropriately set.
Help develop and maintain various golden images in support of business area activities, including operating system images and virtual machines.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of systems and networks for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Clearance & Location Requirements

All applicants must currently possess an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
This is an on‑site position requiring at least five days per week in the Arlington, VA location.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Who You Are (Required)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent full‑time professional experience.
5+ years of full‑time professional experience in systems administration or system support with NIST 800‑53 and other relevant security controls.
Experience developing and remediating POAMs for relevant stakeholders.
Experience working in a VMware environment or similar virtualization platform.
Experience using Tenable Security Center/Nessus scanning tools.
Experience with Trellix or other antivirus/endpoint solutions.
Experience with Bash, Python, or other scripting languages.
Understanding of common TCP/IP concepts including TCP, UDP, VLANs, DHCP, and routing.
Experience provisioning and installing both physical and virtual machines for organizational needs.
Security+, CCNA, or equivalent IAT Level II certification.
Experience hardening devices and updating DISA STIG checklists.
Experience patching and remediating vulnerabilities in a closed network.
Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time.

What Makes You Stand Out

Strong understanding of Red Hat or similar Linux distributions.
Experience working with networking within a tactical system.
Experience with the United States Navy RMF process.
Experience with cross‑domain solutions.
Experience configuring multiple forms of authentication, including PKI concepts.
Experience identifying hardware and software required for purchase to meet various use‑cases.
Experience with Ansible, PowerShell, Chef, Salt, Puppet, or other configuration automation software.

Pay Range Note

The posted range does not include bonuses, commissions, tips, or other benefits. Compensation is dependent on experience, skills, and education.
