Cybersecurity Systems Engineer
Des Plaines, IL - Full Time
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to join our team.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of the DoD cybersecurity policies and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Independently conduct cybersecurity engineering research and provide recommendations for the implementation of security mechanisms in company products.
- Serve as a liaison between end users, customers, software developers, and systems engineers to implement cybersecurity requirements in an efficient and effective manner.
- Provide actionable guidance including prototyped solutions to hardware and software developers to improve product security posture.
- Contribute substantive content to the development of deliverable cybersecurity documentation.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in a S.T.E.M. related field with 5+ years of experience.
- DoD 8570 IASAE Level II certification.
- Linux systems administration experience.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and standards.
- Proficiency with routers, managed switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Knowledge of modern encryption techniques.
- Experience with PKI including certificate generation, distribution, storage, usage, and revocation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (United States Government requires United States citizenship).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Secret DoD security clearance.
- Experience with NSA’s Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program.
- Experience with NIAP protection profiles for cybersecurity components.
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools for Android.
- Experience with the Samsung Knox framework.
- Experience with Data at Rest (DAR) techniques and requirements.
- Experience with hardware root of trust and secure boot system implementations.
