Horizon Global Partners is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Specialist to support the Department of Energy (DOE), Naval Reactors Laboratory Field Office (NRLFO) Mission Support Division.

The Cybersecurity Specialist will provide cybersecurity program oversight, compliance reviews, security assessments, policy development, and cybersecurity process improvement in classified and unclassified environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, CS, IT or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 2+ years.
  • At least 1 year of specialized cybersecurity experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 level.
  • Experience with audits, compliance reviews, vulnerability assessments, risk analyses.
  • Knowledge of DOE Orders, NNSA policies, DoD instructions, and federal cybersecurity requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • DOE Q Clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support implementation of classified and unclassified cybersecurity programs.
  • Ensure compliance with DOE/NNSA requirements, federal cybersecurity directives, and Cyber Security Risk Management Program guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, security plans, and long-range strategies.
  • Conduct and lead cybersecurity audits, compliance reviews, security surveys, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses.
  • Review system security plans, policies, procedures, and technical controls.
  • Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities, findings, and instances of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare formal cybersecurity assessment reports and weekly status reports.
  • Provide cybersecurity guidance, training, and recommendations to personnel and leadership.
  • Lead cybersecurity process improvement initiatives and special projects.
  • Provide cybersecurity input for IT systems, software applications, and technology enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate cybersecurity documentation and tracking records.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field plus 4 years of relevant experience, OR Master’s degree in a related field plus 2 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of specialized cybersecurity experience at or equivalent to the U.S. Government GS-12 level.
  • Experience with cybersecurity audits, compliance reviews, vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, or identifying IT system vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of DOE Orders, NNSA policies, DoD instructions, and federal cybersecurity requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CISSP, CISM, or similar cybersecurity certification.
  • Experience supporting federal or DOE cybersecurity programs.
  • Experience developing cybersecurity policies, SOPs, security plans, or organizational directives.
  • Experience with cybersecurity process improvement and IT infrastructure.
Security Clearance

DOE Q Clearance is required. Personnel must have the ability to obtain a DOE Facility Clearance. Reciprocity with an existing Department of Defense clearance may be used while DOE clearance adjudication is evaluated.
