Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Project Lead/Senior Information System Security Specialist to provide program management and technical cybersecurity support for the FHWA Cyber Security Management Support program. Under the oversight of the FHWA ISSM, this position plans, implements, operates, monitors, and reports on cybersecurity activities that strengthen the security posture of FHWA information systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or a related technical field.
• Current, verifiable CISSP certification.
• Current, verifiable Cloud Security Knowledge or Azure certification.
• PMP certification is highly desirable.
• Expert knowledge of PMBOK practices and project management principles.
• Experience with vulnerability and compliance tools (Nessus, Splunk, Netsparker, BigFix, SYNACK).

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage project plans, schedules, risk registers, and communications plans.
• Coordinate program activities, staffing, finances, and deliverables from initiation to completion.
• Ensure work aligns with task-order requirements and milestones.
• Prepare monthly quality and performance reports and status briefs.
• Schedule and host kickoff and monthly status review meetings.
