Quanex is seeking a Cybersecurity Manager in Houston, TX or Akron, OH to oversee the cybersecurity program across global operations. The role requires leadership of a direct team and collaboration with IT, vendors, and auditors to embed security into technology and processes.

Applicants should have 15+ years IT experience, 5+ years in cybersecurity leadership, and expert knowledge of security practices, backups, and disaster recovery. Salary ranges from 140k to 170k with bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 15+ years IT experience with cybersecurity role and leadership.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity leadership and team management.
• 7+ years in Windows Server and AD administration.
• 7+ years in SD-WAN, LAN/WAN, VPN, wireless, security tech.
• Expert knowledge of IT security best practices.
• Experience with backups and disaster recovery strategies.
• Strong networking knowledge: TCP/IP, ports, firewalls.
• Experience with System Center, SolarWinds Orion, Splunk.

Responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen Quanex's enterprise cybersecurity program across global operations.
• Shape security architecture, policies, standards, and risk management.
• Partner with IT, business leaders, vendors, auditors, and global teams to embed security.
• Ensure MDR and SOC partnerships are effectively monitored and managed.
• Provide clear cybersecurity reporting, metrics, and dashboards for leadership.
• Maintain and test the Cyber Incident Response Plan and drive improvements.
