Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) invites undergraduates to join the Cybersecurity Operations team as an on-site Fall 2026 intern in Idaho Falls. You will help mitigate vulnerabilities in the Linux HPC environment, research CVEs, and assist with patching and documentation for system admins and security staff.

The role may involve scripting, Git-based documentation, configuration management, and security log analysis, with reporting to the HPC team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full time in an undergraduate degree program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT).
• Current resume or CV and unofficial transcripts.
• Current class schedule with credits.

Responsibilities

• Support vulnerability mitigation and secure HPC operations.
• Research CVEs and prioritize vulnerabilities based on exposure.
• Assist patching or mitigation and document findings for admins.
• Scripting or documentation may be included based on skills.
