Erie 1 BOCES is seeking a Cybersecurity and Networking Teacher for an anticipated vacancy. The role serves 11th- and 12th-grade students in a two-year Career & Technical Education program.

You will deliver lessons aligned with NYSED CTE standards and industry expectations, leading hands-on labs with firewalls, forensic software, and certification prep (CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, CCNA). This position prepares students for credentials and postsecondary pathways.

Formación

• Must possess, or be able to obtain, NYS Career and Technical Education teaching certification in Information Technology.
• Strong technical knowledge in cybersecurity, networking, and IT systems with relevant industry experience.
• Strong communication and classroom-management skills.
• Demonstrate professionalism and commitment to emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Experience working with/teaching secondary students preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Teach 11th- and 12th-grade students in a two-year CTE program in cybersecurity and networking.
• Deliver lessons aligned with NYSED CTE standards and industry expectations.
• Lead hands-on labs using firewalls, forensic software, vulnerability scanners, and data-hiding tools.
• Prepare students for certifications including CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and CCNA.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom and lab environment emphasizing responsible tech use.
• Assess student learning with formal and informal evaluations and keep records.
• Collaborate with CTE colleagues, admins, postsecondary partners, and engage with parents.
• Help students develop time-management, problem-solving, and professional skills.
