Job summary

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) seeks a Cybersecurity Governance Specialist to support USINDOPACOM mission through policy development, RMF A&A management, and incident response. This on-site role includes coordinating artifact deliverables, handling SIPR token services, LRA duties, and governance activities.

Qualified candidates have an active TS/SCI clearance, 3+ years of RMF A&A experience, and strong MS Office skills. Comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
  • At least 3 years’ experience managing, developing, or preparing RMF A&A of DoD systems.
  • Experience with automated C&A and A&A toolsets (eMASS).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Draft policy documents, consolidate guidance, track updates, and submit drafts to Governance Team Lead.
  • Review significant activity notifications and coordinate remediation with USINDOPACOM users.
  • Perform Local Registration Authority duties per DoD and USINDOPACOM procedures.
  • Process Information Assurance requests via FootPrints for accounts and access.
  • Maintain logs and documentation for Information Assurance and LRA actions.
  • Create, replace, reformat, and revoke SIPR tokens; reset PINs and maintain records.
  • Coordinate with LRA System Admins and ISSOs to ensure duties and audits are complete.
  • Maintain designation letters and LRA documentation in the USINDOPACOM repository.
  • Perform ISSM duties per USINDOPACOM, Navy, and DoD policies.
  • Investigate IA events, including network incidents and policy exceptions.
  • Support website and port unlocks, hard-drive destruction actions, and IA policy exceptions.
  • Assist with other cybersecurity governance, compliance, and ISSM tasks.
  • Provide customer service and technical writing support.

ASE is looking for a Cybersecurity Governance Specialist to work in Honolulu, HI.

The Cybersecurity Governance Specialist is an essential role supporting the HQ USINDOPACOM mission through policy development, RMF Common Controls management, Significant Activity Reporting, and responsive customer support. This position supports cybersecurity policy research and drafting, Common Control artifact coordination, network access, SIPR token services, Cybersecurity Workforce program management, and Information System Security Management activities. Responsibilities
  • Draft policy documents, consolidate applicable guidance, track update timelines, and submit completed drafts to the Governance Team Lead.
  • Review significant activity notifications and coordinate with USINDOPACOM users to remediate required actions and report compliance.
  • Perform Local Registration Authority duties in accordance with the DoD Registration Practice Statement and USINDOPACOM standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor and process Information Assurance requests submitted through FootPrints, including individual, role-based, and group account requests.
  • Maintain service logs and document actions taken on Information Assurance and LRA requests.
  • Create, replace, reformat, and revoke SIPR tokens, complete PIN resets, and maintain required token records.
  • Request credential identifiers or tokens for role-based and group accounts.
  • Support preparation for USINDOPACOM LRA audits and ensure designated workstations, records, and required documentation are audit-ready.
  • Coordinate with LRA System Administrators and Information Assurance Officers to verify required duties and audit preparation activities are complete.
  • Maintain current and accurate designation letters and other LRA documentation in the approved USINDOPACOM repository.
  • Perform assigned Information System Security Manager duties in accordance with USINDOPACOM, Navy, and DoD policies and procedures.
  • Investigate Information Assurance events, including network violations and other cybersecurity incidents.
  • Process website and port unlock requests, classified hard-drive destruction actions, and Information Assurance policy exception requests.
  • Support additional cybersecurity governance, compliance, and ISSM functions as assigned.
  • Customer service, time management skills technical writing.
Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI
  • IAW DoDM 8140.03, must meet Intermediate proficiency level.
  • Must have at least 3 years' experience with managing, developing, or preparing RMF the A&A of systems within the DoD.
  • Task/Subtask Function Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have experience with automated C&A and A&A toolsets (e.g. Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
Desired Qualifications
  • Project management experience.
