Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in information security, computer science, or related field.
• Progressive cybersecurity experience spanning network security, security engineering, or purple/red-team functions.
• Hands-on experience reviewing and administering firewall rule sets and network segmentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environment assessments to validate detection and control effectiveness against current adversary TTPs.
• Maintain situational awareness of enterprise network topology, cloud environments, and interdependencies.
• Review firewall rules to identify overly permissive or misaligned rules and ensure justification remains valid.
• Partner with vulnerability and patch management to prioritize remediation of hygiene gaps.
• Develop and maintain a prioritized backlog of architecture and control weaknesses; brief leadership on trends and remediation status.
• Coordinate with IT and business owners to revalidate business justification behind firewall rules and access paths.
• Document findings and remediation recommendations to inform detection-engineering priorities.
• Support incident response and threat intelligence with architecture context.
