Job summary

HB Mechanical Group, LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to own security operations and engineering across the enterprise. You will report to IT leadership and partner with third-party architects to implement robust security controls.

This generalist role covers threat hunting, monitoring, incident response, and hands-on configuration of security tools across Azure and on-prem environments. Occasional travel may be required within the U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or blended security/IT roles.
• Ability to build and operate security controls with minimal supervision.
• Hands-on with EDR/endpoint security and SIEM (CrowdStrike preferred).
• Strong IAM experience (Entra ID/AD, Okta, MFA, conditional access).
• Experience securing Microsoft 365 and cloud environments (Azure).
• Practical incident-response and threat-hunting experience.

Responsibilities

• Threat Detection, Hunting & Response: monitor, investigate, contain, and remediate incidents end-to-end; tune detections.
• Security Engineering: implement, configure, and maintain controls across Azure and on-prem; manage IAM and conditional access.
• Security Operations: maintain security standards, manage vendors, and oversee security projects.
• Reporting & Metrics: produce clear reports and dashboards; track security KPIs for leadership.
• Governance & Collaboration: align security with leadership and work across divisions to standardize controls.
