Job summary

TekSynap is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer for their Columbus, Ohio office. The successful candidate will develop threat detection use cases and enhance SIEM functionality. Candidates must have at least five years of relevant IT experience including specific experience with SIEM systems, and a range of certifications including DoD 8140 and Cisco Security. The role involves working in a collaborative office environment with a focus on the U.S. military and intelligence community operations.

Qualifications

• Five years of relevant IT experience.
• Three years of SIEM experience in a content development or Incident Response role.
• Three years of experience as a System and/or Network Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop new threat detection use cases.
• Work with stakeholders to identify gaps in security protections.
• Develop custom scripts to enhance SIEM functionality.
• Review data feed quality and recommend improvements.

Skills

Five years of relevant IT experience

Experience with a SIEM

Experience as a System and/or Network Administrator

Understanding of various log formats
