Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst/Engineer in Huntsville, AL to join our prime contract supporting critical space defense programs. You will provide direct A&A support to the ISSM, ensuring secure operations of enterprise networks, mission-critical systems, and sensitive data across the directorate.

You will hands-on contribute to cybersecurity analysis, engineering, and RMF compliance, driving mission assurance for space systems and national security interests.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of cybersecurity experience supporting USSF, DoD, or related federal organizations.
• BA or BS degree required.
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance (with current investigation).
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 IAT/IAM certification.
• Hands-on experience with eMASS.
• Familiarity with RMF protocols.
• Knowledge of USSF A&A procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support A&A activities and provide cybersecurity engineering expertise for enterprise mission systems.
• Develop, update, and manage eMASS entries and coordinate A&A packages per DoDI 8510.01 (RMF).
• Maintain and report on C&A schedules, package status, and system registrations in ITIPS (EITDR) per FISMA.
• Review and refine certification policies, procedures, and reports for evolving cyber system requirements.
• Research and analyze new DoD, USSF, DIA, and DISA directives for impact.
• Support Vulnerability Management System (VMS) processes by documenting and closing findings.
• Contribute to ST&E efforts, penetration testing, and validation of cybersecurity controls.
• Revalidate cyber/IA controls for accredited systems and recommend improvements.

Overview Senior Cybersecurity Analyst/Engineer LOCATION: Huntsville, AL JOB STATUS: Full-time CLEARANCE: Active TS/SCI CERTIFICATION: N/A TRAVEL: As Needed Astrion is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst/Engineer to join our prime contract supporting Golden Dome Space Based Intercept in Huntsville, AL. This role will provide direct Assessment & Authorization (A&A) support to the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM), ensuring the secure operations of enterprise networks, mission-critical systems, and sensitive data across the directorate. You will play a hands-on role in Cybersecurity Analysis, Engineering, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance, driving mission assurance for some of the nation's most important space systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• 15+ years of cybersecurity experience supporting USSF, DoD, or related federal organizations.
• BA or BS degree
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance (with current investigation).
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 IAT/IAM certification.
• Hands-on experience with eMASS.
• Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) protocols.
• Knowledge of USSF A&A procedures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent advanced cybersecurity certification.
• New start experience with RMF.
• Background in cATO certification.
• Experience in bringing networks and systems from Unclassified to TS to ATO.
• Work on national priority systems.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Contribute to Security Test & Evaluation (ST&E) efforts, penetration testing, and validation of cybersecurity controls.
• Revalidate cyber and IA controls for accredited systems and recommend improvements to strengthen mission assurance.
• Assess policy changes from higher headquarters and determine impact on current mission system security posture. #cj
