Synthires is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to contribute to advanced AI evaluation projects. This fully remote hourly contract role focuses on enterprise security scenario design, incident response, and risk assessment.

You will create reference reports, evaluate AI outputs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure rigorous, compliant results. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in cybersecurity, strong knowledge of major frameworks, and hands-on experience with leading tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cybersecurity roles such as security engineering, operations, incident response, risk management, or leadership.
• Experience managing security operations, incident response, architecture, or compliance programs.
• Strong knowledge of NIST CSF, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIS2.
• CISSP, CISM or equivalent is highly preferred.

About the Opportunity

This opportunity is for experienced cybersecurity professionals interested in contributing to advanced AI evaluation projects. The role involves applying enterprise-level cybersecurity expertise to design real-world security scenarios, create reference solutions, and evaluate AI-generated outputs used to improve next-generation AI systems.

Ideal Candidates

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, security operations, incident response, risk management, or security leadership roles.
• Experience managing security operations, incident response programs, security architecture, or compliance initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks including NIST CSF, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIS2.
• Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Tenable, Qualys, and GRC platforms.
