Job summary

Huntington Bancshares, Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to provide expert technical support for the Cyber Security Department. You will help provision, support, and maintain security platforms and services aligned with the enterprise cyber security strategy.

The role entails day-to-day security operations, alert evaluation and mitigation, and development of new security rules and alerts within the toolset. Onsite work at Huntington’s Easton Oval office is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production support and design of Cyber Security technologies.
• 5+ years of operational experience with security technologies.
• 5+ years of implementing or utilizing technology lifecycles and best practices.
• Bachelor's Degree or 4+ additional years of equivalent cybersecurity experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in day-to-day security operations monitoring and response from the Cyber Security Operations Center.
• Evaluate, respond, and mitigate alerts from the SIEM and security product suite (NGFWs, IDS/IPS, Anti-virus, EPP/EDR, WAFs).
• Implement or recommend mitigations including new alerts and rules for security tools.
• Analyze and identify malicious activity during attack stages.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This is an onsite position located in Huntington's Easton Oval office in Columbus, OH.

Summary:

The Cyber Security Engineer is expected to provide technical and engineering expertise for the Cyber Security Department. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their expertise on provisioning, supporting, and ongoing maintenance of Cyber Security operating platforms, applications and services. The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for providing and implementing the technological solutions and configurations that are in alignment with the overall enterprise cyber security strategy and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in the day-to-day security operations monitoring and response from the Cyber Security Operations Center.
• Evaluate, respond, and mitigate alerts that originate from the SIEM and the Cyber Security product suite, e.g. NGFWs, IDS/IPS, Anti-virus, EPP/EDR, Web Application Firewalls, etc.
• Implement or recommend mitigations including the creation and development of new alerts and rules within the various cyber security tools.
• Be able to analyze and identify malicious activity during the various attack stages.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of production support and design of Cyber Security technologies, or relevant technical production support experience.
• 5+ years of operational experience with security technologies, or related technical tooling.
• 5+ years of implementing or utilizing technology lifecycles and best practices.
• Bachelor's Degree or 4+ additional years of equivalent experience in cybersecurity production support.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expert level network troubleshooting skills utilizing packet capture/analysis packages such as Wireshark, TCPdump, etc.
• Intermediate level knowledge of core networking protocols including BGP, DNS, HTTP/S, DNS, etc.
• Intermediate level knowledge of operating systems, e.g. Windows, Linux, & Unix.

Exempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) (No = eligible for overtime pay)
