Job summary

UL Solutions in Northbrook, IL is hiring a Cyber Security Engineer for a hybrid role with three on-site days weekly. You will evaluate and test security across embedded, cloud, web, and mobile environments, and collaborate with customers to deliver clear findings and remediation guidance.

The role emphasizes hands-on security testing, reporting, and staying current with evolving attack techniques. A Bachelor's degree and ~3 years of related experience are typical requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electronic/Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field with roughly three years of related experience.
• Experience with embedded systems, cloud environments, web and mobile apps preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, implement attacks requiring multiple techniques such as vulnerability analysis, signal processing, physical attacks, and others.
• Undertake security evaluation attacks on embedded systems, cloud environments, web applications and mobile applications.
• The main activity will be the real product analysis with the aim to highlight its strengths and weaknesses.
• Work closely with customers to meet their requirements; including producing expertise reports on the findings.
• Follow-up with the latest technical developments in the physical and logical attacks area that need to be contributed to the internal R&D developments in hardware and software to enhance the level of our attacks and to explore new forms of attacks.
• Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their security objectives, provide technical guidance, and deliver clear, professional reports with findings, risk ratings, and remediation recommendations.
