Job summary

Extant Aerospace is looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer in Melbourne, Kentucky, to join our security team. This onsite role requires U.S. Citizenship and involves implementing cybersecurity tools to ensure compliance with CMMC and NIST standards.

The ideal candidate will bring 3–6 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering and a strong understanding of security frameworks. We prioritize innovation and continuous learning in a collaborative workplace.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or compliance roles.
• Demonstrated experience implementing or assessing controls against NIST SP 800-53 and/or NIST SP 800-171.
• Ability to obtain security clearance, preferably active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and tune cybersecurity tools to meet compliance requirements.
• Conduct gap analyses and support compliance assessments for CMMC Level 2 certification.
• Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs) and key security documentation.
