Job summary

TALENT Software Services is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to design and implement advanced cyber defense solutions, focusing on Splunk SIEM capabilities to monitor, detect, and respond to security events. You will work to safeguard infrastructure and ensure system deployment meets specifications.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in cybersecurity, strong SPL skills, and hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise Security, cloud platforms, and security frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in cybersecurity, specifically operating, building, and investigating threats within a SIEM or Splunk.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, ability to work under pressure and manage multiple security tickets.
  • Proficiency in SPL (Splunk Processing Language).
  • Strong understanding of networking, firewalls, EDR, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and security compliance standards (NIST, HIPAA, SOC 2).
  • Bachelor's degree in CS/ cybersecurity/ IT or related field.
  • Splunk Core Certified User / Advanced Power User certifications are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Threat Detection & Monitoring: Continuously monitor network traffic, endpoint logs, and cloud security events for anomalies.
  • Splunk Management: Create, maintain, and tune Splunk correlation searches, alerts, and dashboards to minimize false positives.
  • Incident Response: Investigate potential security incidents and collaborate with IT to remediate threats.
  • Use Case Development: Develop and refine detection and response playbooks based on threat intelligence.
  • Log Integration: Onboard new data sources, ensure log integrity, parsing, and normalization across the SIEM.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Support audit readiness by collecting SIEM evidence and generating compliance reports.
