Job summary

Applied Network Solutions, Inc. in the United States seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer (Reverse Engineer) to support reverse engineering of target systems and malware analysis.

You will analyze malicious binaries via controlled execution or static analysis to determine functionality, calls back, and indicators of compromise. Requirements include TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph, 7+ years experience (or 9+ with a Master's) and degrees in CS/CE/IS, plus malware reverse engineering expertise.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with advanced degrees or 9+ years with a Master’s, etc.
  • Degree must be in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Systems or related field
  • Experience must be in malware reverse engineering
  • Knowledge of IDA Pro required
  • CISSP/GIAC GREM or CREA certification required
  • Information Assurance certification may be required

Responsibilities

  • Provide information and documentation enabling malware detection, signatures, and mitigation
  • Aid in reverse engineering of electrical, communication, and computer systems to determine function
  • Provide direct client support in development of analysis and test plans
  • Support reverse engineering of electrical systems including power generation, conversion, and distribution
  • Support software analysis efforts including function of algorithms, data tables and inputs/outputs
  • Support laboratory testing and post-test data analysis
  • Support modeling and simulation to translate findings into results
  • Document results in final technical report with subsystem descriptions
  • Support technical discussions and briefings to the technical community
  • Willing to learn about disciplines encompassing reverse engineering

Cybersecurity Engineer (Reverse Engineer) on our team, you will:

be trusted to directly support the reverse engineering efforts of desired systems and support software analysis efforts. Perform technical analysis of malicious binaries through controlled execution and/or static analysis of assembly code, overcoming techniques designed to defeat analysis, in order to ascertain functionality, capability, call-backs, assist with attribution to adversary infrastructure, and identification of indicators of compromise.

Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and Polygraph required
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience and a Doctoral degree or nine (9) years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or (11) years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or (13) years of relevant experience and an Associate’s degree required.
  • Degree must be in Computer Science Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Relevant experience must be in malware reverse engineering
  • Working knowledge of IDApro
  • CISSP, GIAC GREM or CREA Certification required
  • Information Assurance Certification may be required

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Provide information and documentation that enables malware detection, signature creation and mitigation
  • Aid in the reverse engineering of the electrical, communication, and computer systems to determine the function of each system and sub-systems
  • Provide direct client support to the customer in the development of analysis and test plans
  • Support the reverse engineering of the electrical systems including power generation, conversion, and distribution system; and guidance system including circuits, instruments, physical and structural
  • Support software analysis efforts including identification and function of guidance algorithms, data tables and input and output signals
  • Suport laboratory testing of subsystems including the development of test plans and post-test data analysis
  • Support modeling and simulation efforts to translate reverse engineering findings into meaningful results
  • Document all results in the final technical report including subsystem physical and functional descriptions
  • Support technical discussions and briefings to the technical community, to include the development and presentation of technical briefing summaries of the in-depth analysis and test results
  • Willing to learn about the various disciplines that encompass reverse engineering

The anticipated pay range for this position is $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 USD.
