Job summary

IBM Consulting invites ambitious students to join the Intern Security Consultant 2027 program in New York. You will support real client security projects across security operations, cloud security, IAM, risk management and automation.

Mentors will guide you as you gain hands-on experience with modern tooling and AI-enabled cybersecurity workflows. The role offers the chance to contribute to meaningful client work, with potential progression to full-time Associates programs based on performance

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a university degree with a strong record of academic achievement (preferred majors: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, MIS Engineering, or related technical disciplines)
• Exposure to one or more cybersecurity domains such as Threat Management, Security Operations, Data and Application Security, Identity & Access Management, Cloud Security, Infrastructure Security, or Governance, Risk, and Compliance
• Familiarity with network architecture, network security concepts, authentication and authorization methods, and encryption protocols
• Interest in emerging cybersecurity trends including security automation, AI-assisted threat detection, and modern cloud security practices

Responsibilities

• Support real client security projects that help organizations protect applications, data, cloud environments, and critical infrastructure
• Work alongside experienced consultants while building hands-on experience in cybersecurity, cloud technologies, security operations, automation, and AI-enabled security capabilities
• Analyze business and technical requirements and support security solutions across people, processes, and technology
• Contribute to activities including security monitoring and threat detection, identity and access management, cloud and infrastructure security, and risk management
