Job summary

AV is seeking a Security Engineer in Huntsville to design, develop, and maintain automation across cybersecurity and enterprise platforms. The role focuses on speeding investigations, reducing manual tasks, and strengthening controls through reliable automation.

You’ll work with security analysts, platform engineers, and stakeholders to implement scalable solutions, integrate AI thoughtfully, and maintain auditable, secure workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in security engineering, automation, or related technical field.
• Experience developing automation using Python or PowerShell.
• Practical experience integrating enterprise platforms via APIs (authentication, JSON, pagination).
• Knowledge of security operations, incident response, endpoint, identity, network, and cloud threats.
• Experience with SIEM or SOAR platforms and workflow orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with Git, code reviews, testing, and secure development practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical solutions to nontechnical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, CS, IT, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation workflows across SIEM, SOAR, endpoint security, identity, vulnerability management, cloud, and ticketing platforms.
• Develop integrations using REST APIs, web-hooks, SDKs, and scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.
• Automate alert enrichment, investigation support, case creation, evidence collection, notifications, and incident response actions.
• Engineer workflows that correlate information across platforms to improve visibility and reduce manual effort.
• Partner with security analysts and incident responders to identify automation opportunities and translate playbooks into technical workflows.
• Automate vulnerability management activities including asset enrichment, remediation ticket creation, ownership assignment, escalation, and closure validation.
