Job summary

Vantage Point Solutions in Mitchell, SD is seeking an entry‑level to mid‑level Cybersecurity Specialist to join its security team. You will support assessments, vulnerability reviews, policy reviews, and client engagements across industries, applying risk management and compliance concepts.

Responsibilities include conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security documentation; collaborating with cross‑functional teams; and staying current with threats and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, CS, or related field required.
• Experience with vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, policy reviews or risk assessments preferred.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, SP 800-53, CIS Controls, CMMC, SOC 2, FFIEC guidance preferred.
• Understanding networking concepts: TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls.
• Knowledge of security tools: vulnerability scanners, SIEM, phishing platforms is a plus.
• Security+ or CySA+ or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in and conduct cybersecurity assessments: vulnerability, penetration, policy reviews, social engineering engagements.
• Collaborate with team to evaluate risks, recommend solutions, and implement improvements.
• Research threats and best practices to support client security initiatives.
• Support vulnerability management: identify, validate, document, and track remediation.
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
