Job summary
GuidePoint Security is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to lead architecture and design of innovative security solutions for federal networks, aligning with strategy and market trends.
You will develop and implement security solutions, manage engagements with senior government leaders, and oversee complex projects across IoT, Cloud, A&O, IAM, and analytics. This role requires active TS/SCI clearance and 100% onsite work in Reston, VA or DC.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willing to take polygraph.
- 8+ years in cybersecurity with leading project delivery.
- 5+ years in network architecture and design.
- Experience with Zero Trust solutions and DoD architectures.
- Experience guiding senior leaders and executives.
- Ability to obtain CSSP-IS and IAT-III certifications within given windows.

- Lead architecture and design of cybersecurity solutions for federal networks.
- Translate objectives into engineering outcomes using Systems Engineering Life Cycle.
- Coordinate with experts to select tools and translate IT needs into secure plans.

We are looking for a skilled Cybersecurity Architect to lead the architecture and design efforts of innovative Cybersecurity solutions and service offerings to protect federal networks. The individual will develop and implement security solutions in alignment with security strategy and maintain an awareness of market and technology trends to bring best of breed solutions to the client.

- Applies advanced consulting skills and/or extensive technical expertise; full industry knowledge.
- Develops system concepts and applies the Systems Engineering Life Cycle to translate strategic cyber objectives, technology and environmental conditions into engineering outcomes and solutions.
- Coordinate with a dynamic team of thought leaders and experts to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your customer's IT needs and future goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions.
- Lead the team through a critical approach to network and systems design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions, to maintain a balance of security and mission needs.
- Help customers overcome their most difficult challenges by leading Cybersecurity technologies and domains, including IoT and Cloud security, Automation and Orchestration (A&O), identity and access management, and machine learning.
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
- 8+ years of experience with Cybersecurity, including 5+ years of experience with leading technical project delivery for large, complex organizations
- 5+ years of experience in network architecture and design
- Experience with architecting Zero Trust solutions, road maps, and capabilities in alignment with industry standards, including NIST 800-207 and DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture
- Experience with leading product selection initiatives, including perimeter defense, zero trust, A&O, AI, analytics, secure DevOps, identity and access management, or network access control
- Ability to work with and guide senior leaders, including CISO, CIO, and CTO, and executives to ideate, build, and execute cybersecurity capability maturation
- Education:
- Associate's degree and 10+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities
- Master's degree and 6+ years of experience supporting IT projects,
- 12+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities in lieu of a degree
- Ability to obtain a DoD 8570.01-M Cybersecurity Service Provider - Infrastructure Support (CSSP-IS) Certification, including CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND certification within 30 days of offer accept
- Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification such as SecurityX (formerly CASP+), CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP certification within 45 days of CSSP-IS date (or offer accept if candidate already has CSSP-IS Cert) or 45 days after CSSP-IS if CSSP-IS is also needed.
- Experience in a Cybersecurity compliance, operations, or engineering leadership role
- Experience with selecting, designing, and implementing security tools and capabilities for large, complex federal or commercial organizations
- Ability to collaborate with project and proposal teams effectively to incorporate Cybersecurity solutions and develop high-quality implementation plans and roadmaps
- Ability to author technical documentation and whitepapers and blogs on leading Cybersecurity topics and concepts
- Experience with innovative Cybersecurity capabilities, including A&O, AI and machine learning, NGFW, and Big Data
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
- This position requires 100% onsite support in Reston, VA OR Washington, D.C.

- Required to have close visual acuity to view computer terminal and/or extensive reading for a minimum of 8 hours a day
