Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Security Architect to join its cybersecurity team. The role will design, review, and evaluate security across applications, infrastructure, cloud environments, and data ecosystems, partnering with data, infrastructure, and security teams to embed security by design.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in security architecture with 15+ years IT experience, deep enterprise controls expertise, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Security Architecture or related role within a total of 15+ years IT experience.
• Deep expertise designing, implementing, and improving enterprise security controls.
• Strong understanding of security architecture principles and defensive strategies.
• Attacker perspective mindset to strengthen controls.
• Experience leading security architecture reviews across apps and cloud environments.
• Hands-on cloud security assessments beyond governance.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/InfoSec/Engineering; relevant certs.
• Experience aligning work to NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS, or zero-trust models.
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, PCI, SOX, GDPR).
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, Kubernetes and CI/CD security.
• Experience with AI security guardrails.

This individual will support and execute multiple initiatives aligned to the organization’s security roadmap by partnering closely with data, infrastructure, application, and security teams to strengthen security capabilities, mature processes, and ensure security is embedded consistently across the enterprise. The role will focus on designing, reviewing, and evaluating the security of applications, infrastructure, cloud environments, and data ecosystems, providing architectural guidance and risk-based recommendations that balance security, regulatory requirements, and business needs while promoting a secure by design approach across the organization.

Skills and Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Security Architecture, Cybersecurity Architecture, or a related security engineering role with a total of 15 years of IT experience
• Deep expertise designing, implementing, and improving enterprise security controls.
• Strong understanding of security architecture principles and defensive security strategies.
• Ability to think from an attacker's perspective and apply an ethical-hacker mindset to strengthen security controls.
• Proven experience leading security architecture reviews across applications and cloud environments
• Hands-on experience performing cloud security assessments (not just governance or policy work)
• Bachelor’s degree – Computer Science, Information security – any other engineering field Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, AWS/Azure/GCP security certifications, or equivalent
• Experience aligning security architecture work to frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS, or zero-trust reference models
• Prior experience in regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, PCI, SOX, GDPR)
• Understanding of DevSecOps, including how to secure Kubernetes and CI/CD workflows
• Experience with AI security guardrails
