• Work with experienced IT and cybersecurity professionals.
• Develop the technical knowledge and skills needed for a career in cybersecurity.

Job description

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Information and Technology (OIT), offers the VA Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program for Veterans, providing an opportunity for Veterans with strong technical backgrounds to build a career in cybersecurity through paid, hands-on experience and professional development.

You do not need to be an experienced cybersecurity professional to apply. This apprenticeship is designed for Veterans who bring technical knowledge and experience from their military service and are ready to learn, develop new skills, and transition into the cybersecurity field.

This is a full-time, paid federal position where you will receive on-the-job experience and develop your cybersecurity knowledge while working alongside VA information technology and cybersecurity professionals.

What You'll Learn and Do:

As an apprentice, you will develop your cybersecurity skills while:

• Monitoring and analyzing network and system activity.

Opportunity & Position Details

• Paid, full-time federal term position - Not to Exceed 2½ years
• GI Bill benefits eligible

• Salary: $62,972 - $81,868 per year
• Location: Martinsburg, WV
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Grade: GS-9
• Promotion potential: GS-12
