Job summary

Cybersecurity Jobs is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to support proactive information security across internal and client infrastructure on an onsite basis in California. You will assist with audits, risk assessments, governance adherence, patch management, and incident response planning.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in information security, familiarity with NIST/PCI/SOC, and a willingness to learn and share knowledge. Strong networking and cloud knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of information security experience.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks including NIST, PCI, and SOC.
  • Relevant security certification, or a desire to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn, teach, and share knowledge.
  • Broad knowledge of computer networking and cloud technologies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent corporate work ethic (timely, respectful, honest).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks on schedule.
  • Proficient communicator using the Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze security events that require research, documentation, and escalation.
  • Test, update, and maintain incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Stay current on the latest security and technology developments.
  • Assist with the creation, maintenance, and delivery of cybersecurity awareness training for colleagues.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance the current security toolset.
  • Identify potential security weaknesses and implement measures such as firewalls and encryption.
  • Maintain an information security risk register and support internal and external audits related to information security.
