Job summary

Cogent Communications is hiring a Cybersecurity Analyst focused on Security & AI Governance in the United States. You will protect information assets, cloud environments, and AI initiatives while aligning with security policies and regulatory requirements.

Work closely with CIO/CISO, IT teams, developers, and vendors to implement governance, risk management, and secure development practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Associate's in cybersecurity, CS, IS, or data science required.
• Experience in security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk assessment.
• Familiarity with generative AI, ML concepts, LLMs, or AI-enabled applications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems, networks, apps, cloud platforms, and AI services for threats.
• Analyze security alerts and investigate incidents to determine root causes and remediation actions.
• Support incident response activities including containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with technical and business stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity and AI governance policies, standards, procedures, and controls.
• Collaborate with IT, software development, and business teams to implement security best practices and controls.
