Job summary

Peraton, located in Linthicum, MD, seeks a Cyber Threat Team Lead to guide a skilled group of analysts conducting cyber investigations, forensics, and threat analysis in support of a DoD customer.

You will oversee threat reporting, OSSI research, and delivery of briefs to government stakeholders, leveraging MITRE ATT&CK knowledge and SIEM tools. A Secret or higher clearance is preferred, with leadership experience valued.

Qualifications

• Experience researching in classified and commercial databases and producing written products showing APT pattern analysis.
• Experience with SIEM technologies.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, and APTs/TTPS.
• Experience with DoD Cyber Operations.
• Experience with Jira or ServiceNow.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; self-motivated with attention to detail.
• Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
• 6 years of relevant experience; leadership experience is a plus.

• Conduct periodic performance check-ins with team.
• Conduct final reviews of threat reports.
• Lead a small team of cyber analysts.
• Monitor JIRA for various tickets and respond/assign as needed.
• Compose cyber reports for Defense Industrial Base partners.
• Conduct open-source research of indicators of compromise using common threat vendor tools.
• Analyze threat data and provide updates to government stakeholders.
• Provide cyber threat briefs and feedback during dry-run reviews.

Peraton is seeking a Cyber Threat Team Lead in our Linthicum, MD office in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated, and high-performing team. • Experience with SIEM technologies
• Knowledge of current and emerging cyber adversaries
• Experience with Department of Defense Cyber Operations
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and Cyber Kill Chain
• Knowledge of Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs)
• Experience with Jira or other similar platforms (e.g., ServiceNow)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Self-motivated individual with attention to detail
• Proven ability to display strong emotional intelligence and foster positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Proven ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
• Active Secret clearance required (TS/SCI preferred)
• 6 years of relevant experience, may have leadership experience

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
