Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie, Texas, seeks a Cyber Systems Security Engineer to join the Program Protection Organization for embedded security across DoD weapon systems. You will implement SSE processes and verify security across hardware and software in missile and fire control products.

The role requires a DoD SDLC background, U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance, and a related degree or equivalent experience. This is an on-site, full-time opportunity.

Qualifications

• Experience within the DoD SDLC.
• Experience implementing DoD System Security requirements.
• Ability to obtain DoD 8140 baseline certification (IAT/IAM Level II) within 6 months.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen capable of obtaining Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.

You will be a Cyber Systems Security Engineer in the Program Protection Organization. Our organization oversees all aspects of Anti-Tamper and embedded Cybersecurity across Missiles and Fire Control. We are chartered with providing the skills and innovative technologies to develop, design, produce and sustain secure products across our Lines of Business.

We are chartered with providing the skills and innovative technologies to develop, design, produce and sustain secure products across our Lines of Business.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Cyber Systems Security Engineer you will be responsible for providing embedded System Security Engineering design and implementation in all aspects of System Security Engineering (SSE) process in development of Department of Defense (DoD) Weapon Systems. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing and mitigating System Security threats/risks throughout the embedded Weapon System development life cycle
• Validating System Security Engineering requirements decomposition, allocation and analysis for embedded Weapon Systems
• Implementing System Security Engineering solutions hardware and software
• Verifying implementation of system security requirements
• Designing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining state of the art System Security architectures and countermeasures to protect and enable innovative new Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control products
• Analyzing weaknesses, vulnerabilities and threats against System Security posture on product designs
• Prototyping and testing System Security countermeasures that defend against cyber-attacks against Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Weapon System products
• For a level 2, we typically look for a Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree, or equivalent experience/combined education. This position is on-site full time.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience working within the DoD systems development life-cycle (SDLC)
• Implementing System Security requirements on DoD systems to meet U.S. government compliance requirements
• Experience supporting validation and verification of security requirements on DoD systems
• Possess an approved DoD 8140 baseline certification for IAT/IAM Level II (CISSP, CAP, etc.) or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of start date in order to meet program requirements
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. A company-sponsored Interim Secret is required to start.

Desired Skills

• Experience in supporting Security Verification testing on developed DoD Weapon Systems
• Experience developing embedded DoD National Security Systems (NSS) requiring Systems Security Engineering implementations is preferred
• Design experience through the DoD systems development life-cycle (SDLC) developing embedded system security solutions for DoD weapon or tactical systems
• Tactical as well as strategic thinking and creative problem solving
• Experience with embedded systems design
• Excellent writing skills and ability to communicate effectively
• Experience with embedded system vulnerability scanning and Software Assurance (SwA) activities
• Strong understanding of System Security Engineering (SSE) principals and process. (NIST SP 800-161)
• Experience in the identification, decomposition, allocation and verification of NIST SP 800-53 Security Controls on DoD systems

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00
