Job summary

Lockheed Martin - Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Cyber Systems Security Engineer to lead cyber protection for critical DoD assets. You will drive secure design and integration across submarine warfare systems, applying RMF-based controls and security testing.

The role requires hands-on Linux/Windows security work, development experience in C++/Java, and collaboration across teams. A DoD 8570 baseline certification is expected within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a cyber-related field with relevant experience or a master’s with 2+ years in cyber.
• Hands-on Linux system experience and large-scale software development.
• Experience with networking concepts and cyber security solutions in teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls for confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Apply RMF/SRG/STIG guidance to advance cyber controls in system architectures.
• Integrate secure configuration for Linux and Windows environments.
• Perform security assessments and validate configurations via automated testing.
• Collaborate across teams on secure system design balancing mission goals and protection.
• Lead meetings, translate security requirements into tasks, and mentor peers.
