Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Cyber Systems Engineer for the CIDO Classified Solutions team in Melbourne, FL. The role supports lab infrastructure, desktop virtualization, network security, and test environments across multiple classifications. On-site work with potential travel up to 10% is required.

Candidates must hold a Secret clearance (or higher), SAP before start, and Security+ or higher, with a background in STEM and relevant engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 2 years of related professional/military engineering experience or a Master's degree in STEM with 0 years of related experience.
• Current in-scope U.S. Government Secret security clearance with a recent investigation (within 6 years) or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation; clearance maintained for employment.
• Special Access Program (SAP) clearance required before start; maintenance of SAP clearance as a condition of employment.
• Security+ certification (or higher) is required.
• Familiarity with Security Protocols and Monitoring Tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform Lab Infrastructure design, deployment, configuration, and management.
• Lead desktop virtualization and host system administration.
• Conduct network and security functions for multiple development environments at various classifications.
• Design and implement software and automation tools for customer development teams and maintenance operations.
• Provide expertise in HITL testing and simulations.
• Support avionics integration into test environments ensuring compatibility and performance.
• Develop and maintain aircraft simulations reflecting operational scenarios.
• Set up and operate Test Stations (MSITS, VSITS) for comprehensive testing.
• Implement and manage cyber networking solutions for secure communication between test systems.
• Document test procedures, results, and best practices for assurance and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve integration issues.

The Northrop Grumman CIDO Classified Solutions team is seeking Cyber Systems Engineers to support information systems and network design, operation, and security activities. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at our Melbourne, FL campus.

Note : Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options.

Also note that this opportunity is contingent upon program award; the selected candidate will receive a contingent offer with a start date yet to be determined.

Responsibilities

• Perform Lab Infrastructure design, deployment, configuration, and management.
• Lead and oversee desktop virtualization and host system administration.
• Perform both Network & Security functions necessary to operate multiple Software Development environments at various classification levels.
• Design and implement software and automation tools to assist both customer development teams and maintenance operations.
• Provide expertise in configuring and conducting hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing and simulations.
• Support the integration of avionics systems into test environments, ensuring they meet compatibility and performance requirements.
• Collaborate with teams to develop and maintain aircraft simulations that accurately reflect operational scenarios.
• Participate in the setup and operation of Test Stations, such as the Mission System Integration Test Station (MSITS) and the Vehicle System Integrated Test Station (VSITS), for comprehensive system testing.
• Implement and manage cyber networking solutions to ensure secure and efficient communication between test systems and components.
• Document test procedures, results, and best practices to support ongoing assurance and compliance efforts.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve integration issues and ensure successful system performance.
• Proactively research and analyze industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to test station engineering and cyber systems.
• Willingness to embrace change and work in a dynamic environment.
• May require alternate work schedules, shift work, EWW, and potentially some weekend work.
• Potential travel (10%) to support program activities and integration.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
• The selected candidate must have a current in scope U.S. Government Secret security clearance with an investigation completed within the last 6 years or be enrolled in the U.S. Government Continuous Evaluation Program; the required security clearance must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
• The selected candidate must have a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance before a start date can be established; maintaining the required SAP clearance will be a condition of continued employment.
