Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer/ Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team supporting multiple programs/sites under our Advanced Manufacturing & Technology Organization in San Diego, CA.

We seek a highly motivated, team-oriented individual who understands security and its importance to our mission. Responsibilities include managing secure operations infrastructure, platforms, and software, including installation, maintenance, and improvement of environments. The candidate will serve as a Cyber Subject Matter Expert (SME) and ensure compliance with the Risk Management Framework.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, implement, and assess security controls, policies, and processes in compliance with NSA programs and DoD RMF guidance.
• Assess systems security controls to validate implementation and identify weaknesses.
• Document Certification and Accreditation activities, prepare Security Plans, and update POA&M.
• Review audits and monitor corrective actions; automate security tools and configure compliance baselines.
• Provide technical analyses of cyber infrastructure challenges; develop technical solutions.
• Participate in technical reviews of requirements, design, and deployment plans.
• Recommend and implement system enhancements for performance, reliability, and security.
• Serve as a Cyber SME providing high-level expertise.
• Ensure implementation of Cyber Security disciplines including COMSEC, OPSEC, network protocols, and penetration tools.
• Support continuous IA Control compliance assessments.

Qualifications

Cyber Systems Engineer: Bachelor's in STEM with 2 years of experience or Master's with no experience; Security+ certification; active DoD Secret clearance; ability to obtain Special Program Access.

Principal Cyber Systems Engineer: Bachelor's in STEM with 5 years of experience or Master's with 3 years; Security+ certification; active DoD Secret clearance; ability to obtain Special Program Access.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of DoD IA policies, security procedures, and security tools like ACAS, Splunk, Tenable.SC.
• Experience with network hardware (Dell, Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba), scripting, and deploying Linux/Windows systems per DoD standards.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts.

Salary Range

Primary Level: $98,400 - $147,600; Secondary Level: $121,400 - $182,000. Compensation depends on experience and market conditions. Benefits include health insurance, paid holidays, PTO, and bonuses. The application period is approximately 20 days from posting.
