Job summary

PL Consulting, Inc. seeks a highly experienced information assurance professional in Chantilly, VA to join our in-person team. The role requires a TS clearance with SCI eligibility and strong RMF/ConMon expertise, focusing on continuous monitoring and NIST controls.

You will guide process improvements, coordinate with cyber data science, and prepare metrics for senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will provide leadership across multiple domains, including DoD cybersecurity operations, and

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government TS clearance with SCI eligibility and favorable polygraph.
• BS in STEM or advanced IA certification.
• DoD 8570 certification in IAT or IAM.
• Knowledge of RMF and continuous monitoring practices (Step 6).
• Experience with NIST 800-53, 800-37, 800-53a, 800-137; maintain documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in SysAdmin/ISSM/ISSO/ISSE/DAO-R/SCA/ISO roles.
• Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, Visio.
• Self-starter capable of working with limited direction.
• Preferred: briefing senior stakeholders.
• Preferred: organizing and prioritizing in fast-paced settings.
• Preferred: familiarity with AWS.
• Preferred: familiarity with IA processes.
• Preferred: experience with ServiceNow and Splunk.

Responsibilities

• Support the Information Security Continuous Monitoring program lead in ConMon.
• Drive process improvements for ConMon programs and metrics.
• Collaborate with Cyber Data Science to identify information sources.
• Develop new views of ConMon posture and collect data for reports.
• Create asset ConMon compliance views for mission, cross-domain, and location categories.
• Provide metrics and reporting data for stakeholders across NIST SP 800-137 tiers.
• Validate effectiveness of ConMon control evidence in ConMon tool.
• Coach ISSOs on improving BOE entry language.
• Assist SCAs, FISMA, and IG teams with ConMon BOEs.
• Provide inputs for AO/DAOs to support risk decisions on authorization.
• Initiate studies to improve ConMon reporting metrics.
• Recommend enhancements to Enterprise Security Services tool implementations.

Requirements

Must have:

• We require an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and a favorable polygraph adjudication.
• We require a Bachelor of Science in a STEM field or an advanced IA certification.
• We require a DoD 8570 certification in IAT or IAM.
• We need knowledge of and hands-on experience with RMF, especially Step 6 Continuous Monitoring practices.
• We require experience applying ICD 503 RMF processes and NIST 800-53, 800-137, 800-37, and 800-53a controls, along with maintaining certification and accreditation documentation.
• We need strong verbal and written communication skills.
• We require experience in one or more of the following roles: SysAdmin, ISSM, ISSO, ISSE, DAO-R, SCA, or ISO.
• We require proficiency with office automation tools such as MS Office, MS Project, and Visio.

Responsibilities:

• We support the Information Security Continuous Monitoring program lead in advancing our Continuous Monitoring program. – We generate and drive process improvement initiatives for ConMon. – We coordinate with our Cyber Data Science team to identify better information sources for evaluating ConMon activities. – We work with the Cyber Data Science team to develop new views of our ConMon posture. – We collect data, create reports, and deliver updates that show progress across the enterprise ConMon program. – We develop and present asset ConMon compliance views for mission, cross-domain, and location categories as needed. – We identify and provide metrics and reporting data for stakeholders across the NIST SP 800-137 tiers. – We validate the effectiveness of ConMon control bodies of evidence entered into the ConMon tool. – We coach and mentor ISSOs on improving the quality of ConMon BOE entry language. – We assist SCAs, FISMA teams, and IG teams in reviewing ConMon BOEs for official reporting. – We provide metrics and reporting inputs for AO/DAOs to support risk decisions on continued system authorization. – We initiate and contribute to studies aimed at improving ConMon reporting metrics. – We recommend enhancements to Enterprise Security Services tool implementations.

This is an in-person opportunity with a salary range of $150,000 to $175,000 per year.
