Job summary

ShorePoint is seeking a Cyber Specialist II (Secret Clearance) to provide endpoint detection and response monitoring, policy development and compliance support in secure enterprise environments. You will identify vulnerabilities, ensure configurations meet standards and support remediation efforts.

The role requires working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, vulnerability assessment practices, and POAM processes, with the opportunity to shape growth in a fast-growing cybersecurity firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Experience with EDR, STIG-based scanning and vulnerability assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide EDR monitoring and policy enforcement for endpoints.
  • Conduct monthly endpoint vulnerability scans and document findings.
  • Ensure configurations meet security baselines and standards.

Who we’re looking for:

We are seeking a Cyber Specialist II (Secret Clearance) to provide endpoint detection and response (EDR) monitoring, policy development and compliance support within secure enterprise environments. This individual will play a key role in identifying vulnerabilities, ensuring endpoint security configurations meet established standards and supporting remediation efforts. The Cyber Specialist II role requires working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, vulnerability assessment practices and compliance monitoring. What you’ll be doing:
  • Provide EDR monitoring, including policy development, tuning and enforcement for endpoint agents.
  • Conduct monthly compliance scans of endpoint assets using automated tools and configuration guidelines.
  • Ensure systems conform to established security baselines and technical standards.
  • Perform weekly, monthly and ad hoc vulnerability scans and prepare assessment reports.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address identified findings and support remediation.
  • Assist with developing, tracking and updating Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs).
  • Apply technical knowledge to resolve moderately complex security issues under limited supervision.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of endpoint security processes and procedures.
What you need to know:
  • Working knowledge of EDR tools and practices.
  • Familiarity with federal security configuration standards, automated compliance tools and STIG-based scanning.
  • Experience performing vulnerability scans, producing reports and supporting remediation efforts.
  • Understanding of POAM development and compliance tracking processes.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision to resolve technical problems.
Must have’s:
  • Bachelor’s degree or 3+ additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into clear, actionable tasks and processes through critical thinking.
  • Applicants must hold and maintain an active Secret clearance.
