Qualifications

  • Clearance: TS with SCI eligibility required.
  • CISSP or IAM II or DoD 8140 Level II certification preferred.
  • Education: High School Diploma; years of experience: minimum 8 years.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree; 4 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical and technical security recommendations to team members, boards, and clients.
  • Identify requirements based on needs or security issues.
  • Specify and negotiate application security requirements and review policies and system OS patch levels.
  • Develop, debug, test and support certification process.
  • Create and document security baselines.
  • Evaluate secure remote configurations.
  • Act as technical lead during security incidents.
  • Communicate with Enterprise Architect, WAN/LAN/Management Teams to design security solutions.
  • Produce documentation for ongoing security operations and problem resolution.

Job description

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Cyber Security Specialist in support of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Combatant Command, Command and Control (C2) Division (AFNWC/NCC).

This is a full-time position located at Offutt AFB, NE

Responsibilities
  • Provides analytical and technical security recommendations to other team members, oversight boards, and clients
  • Identifies requirements, based upon need or as the result of a security issue that puts organizations systems at risk
  • Meets with clients and management to help specify and negotiate application security requirements, reviews current policies and procedures for applicability, and system OS security patch levels, and ensures safe transition of applications to production
  • Develop, debug, test and support the certification process
  • Create, maintain, and document security baselines
  • Evaluate and recommend secure remote configurations
  • Active member in technical work groups to recommend effective security configurations and architecture
  • Liaison to Enterprise Architect, WAN, LAN, and Enterprise Management Teams to effectively communicate and architect security solutions
  • Develop documentation to support ongoing security systems operations, maintenance and specific problem resolution
  • Works with and coordinates appropriate IT staff to implement solutions which will meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Provide risk analysis for vulnerabilities, incidents and change requests
  • Functions as technical lead during a security incident response

Minimum Experience:

Education: High School DiplomaYears of Experience: Minimum of 8 years relevant experience to include:

  • Strong knowledge and experience applying DoDD 8500.1 Information Assurance, DoDD 8520.1 Protection of SCI, DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology, DoD 8570.01M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, and DoDI 8580.1 Information Assurance in the Defense Acquisition Process used for the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Years of Experience: 4 years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge and experience with NIST 800-53, and DoD Risk Management Framework tools (eMASS/Xacta)
