Job summary

AnaVation is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Officer to join our Reston, VA team. You will oversee operational security, enforce policies, and coordinate cross-functional cyber efforts in a challenging, mission-critical environment.

The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph, 8+ years of relevant experience, and strong incident response, threat intel, and vulnerability management capabilities. Shift work is involved, and extensive collaboration across teams is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience; master’s degree may substitute for 2 years.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with CIPolygraph.
  • Hold or obtain CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IAT Level II certification.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring junior team members.
  • Leading cybersecurity oversight, collection, and reporting of threat intelligence, event analysis, and incident response.
  • Organizing and scheduling 24x7x365 operations in a cybersecurity/IT watch environment.
  • Consolidating and reporting on daily performance and health metrics for government leadership.
  • Incident case management to document and report incidents for audits and compliance.
  • Developing and continuously improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Vulnerability management and cyber threat intelligence.
  • Experience with Classified Government networks and cross-agency coordination.

Responsibilities

Description of Task to be Performed:

AnaVation is seeking an experienced cyber professional to join our team and support our mission critical customer in Reston, VA. As aSeniorCyber SecurityOfficer, you will maintain the operational security posture for an information system to ensure security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed. Your previous experience working collaboratively with staff at all levels to deliver to deliver short-term, medium-term, and long-term commitments will enable us to complete and coordinate tasks across cross-functional teams. This role requires shift work.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performing a variety of Information Assurance (IA) and Computer Network Defense (CND) functions which are broad in nature and support multi-tier IA and CND functions. Examples may include writing and tracking multi-organization Requests For Information (RFI), audit/inspection, certification and accreditation, vulnerability management, detection and response support services.
  • Providing support for a program, organization, system, or enclave’s information assurance program. - - Providing security certification test and evaluation of assets, vulnerability management and response, security assessments, and customer support.
  • Providing support for proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
  • Maintaining operational security posture for an information system or program to ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed.
  • Assisting with the management of security aspects of the information system and performs day-to-day security operations of the system.
  • Evaluating security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information.
  • Performing vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation.
  • Providing configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Manage changes to system and assesses the security impact of those changes. Prepares and reviews documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages, and Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTMs). Executes policies and guidance provided by senior functional/technical leads.
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI Clearance withCIPolygraph
  • Education &Years of Experience:Bachelor’sdegree and8years ofexperience related to specific functional area (may substitute master’sdegree in lieu of 2 years of experience).
  • Certifications:Hold orattaina CompTIASecurity+or equivalent IAT Level II certification.
  • Experienceand knowledge on:
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to junior team members.

  • Classified Government networks, technology stacks, and cybersecurity operations. Experience with providing oversight and coordination in support of cross-agency response teams.
  • Security certifications:CCNA Security,CySA+,SSCP, or equivalentcertification
  • AWS, Cloud certifications
