Amex GBT is seeking a Cyber Security Architect in the United States to embed security into design and build processes. You will review solutions, model threats, and translate findings into actionable mitigations for engineering teams.

The role connects engineering, risk management, product, and enterprise architecture, develops reusable security patterns, and serves as the trusted authority on risk versus speed across travel platforms and data protection.

Formación

• 8+ years in cybersecurity with security architecture or senior security engineering experience.
• Hands-on design/review of cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong grounding in application security, network security and IAM incl. least-privilege/Zero Trust.
• Experience applying threat modeling methodologies and translating findings into design changes.
• Familiar with PCI DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001 and other relevant regulations.
• Able to translate risk into actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Secure solution design and architecture review using threat modeling to identify risks and gaps.
• Define secure patterns and reference architectures; own the review process.
• Set standards for cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP), IAM, encryption, and secrets management.
• Guide secure API and microservices design, including auth and rate limiting.
• Protect traveler and payment data across its lifecycle; collaborate with privacy teams.
• Assess third-party integrations and support due diligence for vendors and partnerships.
