Job summary

AvetixCyber is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst for an onsite role in Austin, TX or Fremont, CA. You will lead product-level cybersecurity initiatives, policy development, and security operations to protect connected medical devices and maintain regulatory compliance.

You will work with engineering and business teams to embed security across the product lifecycle, oversee SIEM and endpoint protection, and drive vulnerability management and incident response programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cybersecurity or information security.
• Experience with cloud security across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with NIST, CIS, ISO, and MITRE frameworks.
• Healthcare regulatory experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies and standards for connected medical technology.
• Monitor networks and systems for security breaches using IDS/IPS tools.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Lead incident response investigations, reporting, and remediation.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
• Embed security into product and technology lifecycle with engineering teams.

Our client is a growing healthcare technology company building and supporting connected medical devices - where cybersecurity isn't just an IT function, it's core to patient safety and regulatory compliance. They're looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst to lead and manage product-level cybersecurity initiatives across the business.

What you'll be doing:

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity policies and standards specific to connected medical technology
• Monitoring networks and systems for security breaches using intrusion detection/prevention tools
• Running regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Leading incident response - investigation, reporting, and remediation
• Ensuring compliance with regulations including GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001
• Partnering with engineering and business teams to embed security into the product and technology lifecycle
• Managing security tooling (SIEM, firewalls, endpoint protection)
• Delivering cybersecurity training and awareness programmes internally

What they're looking for:

• 5+ years in cybersecurity or information security
• Strong grounding in network security, cryptography, threat modelling, and risk assessment
• Familiarity with frameworks/standards such as NIST, CIS, ISO, and MITRE
• Hands-on experience with tools like Splunk, Nessus, Wireshark, Burp Suite, or OWASP ZAP
• Cloud security experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP is essential
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, or AWS security) preferred
• DevSecOps exposure and healthcare regulatory compliance experience are strong pluses

This is an onsite role based in either Austin, TX or Fremont, CA.
