JFL Consulting LLC supports operational cyber defense work at Fort Belvoir, VA, with a focus on turning network observations into actionable vulnerability insights. This onsite role blends advanced analysis, cross-stakeholder collaboration, and operational reporting.

As a Cyber Security Analyst (Operator), you will support analysis of operational network traffic to identify vulnerabilities, coordinate remediation of anomalies, and develop dashboard views that help operations teams.

Qualifications

• Must hold TS/SCI Clearance and CSSP Auditor per DoDD 8570.01 family.
• Experience with security monitoring, threat hunting, and malware analysis.
• Proficiency in Linux administration and networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with DoD IT systems, SIEM tools, and vulnerability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced cyber analysis and provide formal reporting.
• Coordinate with customers, stakeholders, POCs, and SMEs.
• Deliver technical insights and recommendations to the customer.
• Collaborate with DoD leadership and subject matter experts.

This onsite role blends advanced analysis, cross-stakeholder collaboration, and operational reporting, backed by benefits that help you plan for the long term.

Compensation: USD 145,000 - 165,000 per year.

Location: Alexandria, VA (onsite). Place of Performance: Fort Belvoir, VA.

What You’ll Do

As a Cyber Security Analyst (Operator), you will support analysis of operational network traffic to identify vulnerabilities, coordinate remediation of anomalies, and develop dashboard views that help operations teams. You will produce formal reporting based on advanced cyber analysis and help translate findings into recommended actions.

• Conduct advanced cyber analysis and provide formal reporting
• Coordinate with customers, external stakeholders, assessment site POCs, and technical SMEs
• Deliver technical insights and recommendations to the customer
• Collaborate with DoD leadership, customers, and authoritative subject matter experts
• Recommend appropriate find and fix actions for observed issues

What You Bring

• TS/SCI Clearance
• Strong experience with security monitoring, threat hunting, packet analysis, malware analysis, and signature development
• Experience with Info Operations and Computer Network Defense/Exploitation operations
• Linux experience including Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu
• Experience installing, configuring, and administering software applications
• Working knowledge of network sensors and analytics tools such as Zeek, Suricata, and SecurityOnion
• Working knowledge of network SIEM technology including Elastic and Splunk
• Knowledge of network vulnerability scanning and compliance analysis
• Some scripting and programming experience (examples include Perl, Python, C)
• Some experience with firewalls and network TAP technologies
• Familiarity with configuring, managing, and maintaining networking equipment
• Familiarity with DoD IT system and network certification and accreditation processes, including system security authorization agreements
• Strong troubleshooting skills for software and hardware
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Self-starter and problem solver for IT and cyber-related issues
• Strong understanding of computer networking and the ability to perform advanced cyber analytical analysis
• Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or engineering
• In lieu of a degree: direct related operational experience may be substituted
• Must hold IAT Level II and CSSP Auditor certification as described in DoDD 8570.01, 8570.01-M, 8140.01-03, and as amended
