Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate Cyber Security or related program.
• Understanding of Information Security role and responsibilities.
• Knowledge of NIST RMF and implementation of NIST SP 800-53 IA Controls.
• Experience in risk assessments and identifying mitigating controls.
• System security planning and incident response capabilities.
• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, HP WebInspect, HP Fortify, Burpsuite.
• Broad tech background across Linux, Windows, databases, and applications.
• Ability to work in team and independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Application Security Plan (ASP).
• Manage risk assessments and POAM creation.
• Oversee vulnerability mitigation strategies and contingency planning.
• Conduct ongoing security monitoring of applications, databases, and systems.
• Perform incident/vulnerability response duties and reporting.
• Communicate with SOC and MIRT teams.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure secure SDLC practices.
• Support FISMA audit requirements.
