Job summary

Boeing in Long Beach, CA seeks a Sys-Admin/Cyber Engineer (Associate, Mid-Level or Senior) to secure a mixed legacy and modern lab environment for aircraft LRU testing. You will implement NIST SP 800-171 controls, manage Windows and Linux systems, and work with engineering, security, and compliance teams to move toward a compliant segmented infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent related to the work.
3+ years with standardized network protocols and services.
3+ years with RedHat/Oracle/SUSE Linux.
3+ years in info security, compliance, or project mgmt implementing NIST SP 800-171 or similar.
1+ year Windows OS architecture and SQL Server experience.
1+ year FISMA/RMF and NIST 800-53 requirements.
1+ year with cybersecurity frameworks incl. NIST 800-53/800-171, CMMC, ISO, GDPR, ITAR.

Responsibilities

Support and secure legacy lab systems with risk-based compensating controls.
Collaborate on network segmentation separating CUI, lab, and corporate envs.
Participate in migration to segmented, NIST-aligned architecture.
Document configurations, risks, and compensating controls; contribute to POA&M.
Administer Windows and Linux systems in a controlled lab with CUI handling.
Implement and maintain NIST SP 800-171 controls across lab networks.
Design and maintain secure network segmentation and remote access for test benches.
Develop build documentation, baselines, and audit logs aligned with 800-171.
Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams for assessments and monitoring.
