Job summary

Western Union seeks a seasoned executive to lead Cyber Governance, Risk & Compliance and to serve as Deputy CISO. You will own the cyber risk governance framework, regulatory readiness, policy management, and third‑party risk oversight while partnering with the CISO on the enterprise cybersecurity strategy.

You will direct a cross‑functional team, collaborate with executives and the board, and drive ongoing maturation of GRC capabilities in a fast‑paced financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in cybersecurity, technology risk, audit, compliance, or governance roles.
• 7+ years of people leadership with increasing scope.
• Proven experience building or uplifting cyber GRC programs in regulated industries.
• Credentials such as CISSP/CRISC/CISM/CISA highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cyber GRC function, define strategy, operating model, and maturity targets.
• Oversee governance structures, risk reporting, and executive oversight.
• Drive risk appetite, exception management, and risk acceptance processes.
• Coordinate regulatory exams, audits, and customer assessments related to cybersecurity.
• Oversee policy lifecycle, controls, and evidence programs.
• Oversee third‑party cyber risk management and vendor due diligence.
• Build and scale a high‑performing GRC team.
• Support the CISO in enterprise cybersecurity strategy as Deputy CISO.
