Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Forensic Investigator to join our San Diego team. The role requires 1–3 years in forensics and incident response, a BS in CS or MIS, and experience with EnCase, FTK, and DLP technologies.

You will collect data across platforms, perform analysis, and produce evidentiary reports for business partners. You will work independently in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with Security Operations, Legal and HR to present findings and recommendations.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience in forensics and Incident response in a full-time role is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or MIS or similar.
• Incident management training and experience in a large-scale environment.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows, iOS and Linux is a plus.
• Experience with Encase and FTK and with DLP technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring platforms and related tools.
• Certifications: CERT, CISSP, HCISSP preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to deliver tough messages professionally and to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Identify exposures to client sensitive information through forensic data acquisition.
• Data collection from multiple platforms for casework.
• Perform forensic analysis, media preservation, restoration and conversion services.
• Report findings to business partners and executives.
• Develop solutions to improve efficiency in technical processes.
• Produce fact-based reports and evidence to stakeholders.
• Interface with Security Operations, Legal and HR teams.
• Deliver investigation recommendations and reporting by collecting, evaluating and disseminating intelligence.
