Job summary

RTX BBN Technologies seeks motivated students and engineers to join its cyber and EW research teams. You'll develop cyber capabilities, investigate cyber-physical systems, and build sensitive software stacks while collaborating across disciplines. Travel overnight for select projects is required.

Eligibility includes pursuing a bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/Math, 40-hour summer commitment, and ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

For over 70 years, RTX BBN Technologies (BBN) has solved challenging problems through research, exploration, development, and prototyping. BBN’s Non-Kinetic Capabilities and Technologies team leverages computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, and physics to tackle customer challenges in electromagnetic warfare (EW), communications, cybersecurity, cyberspace operations, networking, and RF domains for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers.

BBN is looking for creative, entrepreneurial, and highly motivated, scientists, engineers, and developers who want to create, contribute to, and grow cutting-edge research projects for offensive and defensive cyber and EW operations.

What you will do:
  • Develop next-generation cyber capabilities

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week during summer 2027.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience with C, C++, and / or Python.
  • Experience with reverse engineering using tools such as IDA/Ghidra/BinaryNinja.
  • Knowledge of security fundamentals (cryptography, confidentiality/integrity/availability, etc.).
  • Experience with signal processing fundamentals.
  • Experience in a Linux environment.
  • Ability to obtain a clearance.

The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
