Job summary

Intermountain Farmers Association (IFA) seeks a Cyber Security Specialist to join the Information Technology team at its Salt Lake City corporate office. The role focuses on protecting systems, networks, and data through proactive monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response.

The ideal candidate balances operational security with continuous improvement, helps implement security controls for emerging technologies including AI, and maintains security policies aligned with business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 2-5 years in cybersecurity, network security, or related IT roles.
• Security+ or similar certification preferred; must be obtained if not held.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation tools.
• Familiar with Windows environments, 365, AD, and endpoint management.
• Knowledge of cloud security concepts and modern security best practices.
• Experience with SIEM solutions (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, Wazuh, QRadar).
• Familiar with AI technologies and security considerations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Protect company systems, networks, and data through monitoring and risk mitigation.
• Monitor security alerts and events; respond to threats and incidents.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and coordinate remediation.
• Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures.
• Support secure adoption of emerging technologies, including AI.
• Manage firewalls, endpoint protection, EDR/XDR, and email security tools.
• Perform security audits and reviews to identify improvements.
• Assist with incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Support IAM processes, including MFA and access reviews.
• Maintain security documentation and compliance records.
• Deliver security awareness and training to staff.
• Stay informed on trends and best practices; collaborate across teams.
